Imogen Horton loved being in front of a camera, and as a result, she didn’t think twice about filming how she gave birth via her YouTube channel, where she has about 425K subscribers. The 28-Year-old has welcomed a daughter, officially named Renaelia.
Before this, Imogen often shares the latest beauty purchases and fashion hacks but decided in 2021 she wanted to share with her audience.
Her birth video to YouTube had been captioned: “RAW UNEDITED POSITIVE BIRTH VLOG OF OUR FIRST BABY!!”
Imogen had said at the beginning that the video will feature all aspects of her first labor and delivery of their precious magical baby girl. Imogen, who was 41 weeks pregnant, was then preparing for birth as she explained the contractions and issues she was having, including diarrhea all night.
Imogen and her husband Spencer were also seen driving into the hospital and settling into their room
Later in the clip, as Imogen suffered contractions, Spencer was seen by her side being very supportive, and after a lot of pushing and 22 minutes into the video, the duo welcomed their first child into the world. As the pair cried with happiness, Imogen was heard saying: “I love you so much. Oh my god, she’s amazing.”
Apart from how the birth went, viewers also witnessed how a midwife showed Imogen to breastfeed.
Speaking of her decision to film Renealia’s birth, the influencer, according to New! Magazine, said it wasn’t a big deal for her because she’s always been in front of a camera and loved performing. She added: “I was so deep in the contractions that I really didn’t think about the fact we were filming the birth for my 425,000 YouTube subscribers.”
With her husband Spencer by her side, Imogen shared they were on the same page with filming the birth. “We agreed when it came to filming the birth there’d be no filming down low! I do have limits. And we’d never expose Renaelia without a top on or to expose her body in that way. If she says to me when she’s older ‘Mum I really don’t like that birth video online,’ then I’ll take it down.”
In 2019, the couple had filmed a Q&A about their sex life, in which Imogen revealed she was like marmite. And while she receives negative comments and even death threats due to her content which often results in divided opinions, the new mom hasn’t allowed trolls beat her and believes she’s stronger since giving birth.
