If your just an employee with no ambition then this is a good tactical attitude, of course it is noticed by managers, especially those who do have ambition to move forward in thier carear, and are often end up working during thier own leave, when restructuring is required, or an oppertunity for promotion comes up, many factors are taken into account, being the person who always says “family emergency” or “i have prior commitments” or takes 1 day each month in the middle of the week off as a sick day, to ensure they get thier 10 days sick per year is noticed, and speaks volumes about that persons character, they may be OK at there job but they will be spending a percentage of thier work time finding out what they can get away with and doing the minimal work to keep getting thier pay.
